National Accreditation
Accreditation is a process
that helps non-profits, such as ComServ, meet established standards for
providing quality services. We have
chosen CARF, an international, non-profit organization that accredits human
services providers to assist us in meeting this goal. A team of professionals (surveyors) are
scheduled to visit ComServ on November 13 and 14, 2008. They will be looking at many parts of our
overall organization and will tell us what we are doing well and how we can
improve.
CARF has told us that as part
of the survey, they will interview people who use our services, their families,
our staff, and others. Some questions
the survey team members might ask:
·
Are our services
provided in a clean and safe setting?
·
Do you receive
the services you need and want?
·
Are you treated
with respect?
·
Do you take part
in planning your services?
·
Are you told what
you need to know about your services?
·
Are your
questions answered in a way you understand?
·
Do you know where
to go with questions or concerns?
The survey team will decide
the extent to which ComServ has met the CARF standards. Based on this determination, ComServ may be
given accreditation for one or three years.
